Heavy-Duty Radiator Repair, Nationwide

Active Radiator specializes in cooling-system repair for the Class 6–8 trucking industry and heavy equipment. Every repair center handles welding, cleaning, leak repair, and full recore service for radiators, charge air coolers, and oil coolers — all makes and models, including Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, Volvo, International, Western Star, Autocar, Bluebird, MCI, New Flyer, and Prevost.

Because we are also a manufacturer, a repair at Active is never a dead end: when a core is beyond saving, the same location can recore it or supply a new unit — often from stock — so your vehicle gets back on the road either way.

Repair or Recore? We Will Tell You Straight

A leak at a tank seam or fitting can usually be repaired the same visit. A core that is corroded, repeatedly clogging, or damaged across multiple tubes is a candidate for a recore — new core, your existing tanks and frame — which costs less than a full replacement and restores original cooling capacity.

Our technicians pressure-test first and quote the option that makes sense for the condition of the unit, not the most expensive one.

Why Fleets Choose Active

Manufacturer and repair shop in one

We build radiators and cores, so repairs use the same materials and standards as our new units — and if a part is unrepairable, the replacement is already in the building.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you repair car radiators?

Our repair centers are built for commercial and heavy-duty equipment — semi-trucks, buses, motorhomes, and off-road machinery. For a passenger car radiator, a local automotive shop is usually the better fit; call your nearest location if you are unsure whether we can help.

Is it worth repairing a radiator, or should I replace it?

If the damage is localized — a seam leak, a cracked fitting, a damaged tank — repair is usually the economical choice. If the core itself is failing, a recore restores full cooling capacity for less than a new assembly. We pressure-test before quoting so you are choosing between real options.

Can you repair charge air coolers and oil coolers too?

Yes. Every location services charge air coolers and oil coolers alongside radiators, including welding and pressure testing.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome, but calling ahead lets the shop stage the right parts — especially for fleet work. Use the location list above to find your nearest number.
